COMFREY SALVE
Symphytum officinale is a perennial flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae. Along with thirty four other species of Symphytum, it is known as comfrey. To differentiate it from other members of the genus Symphytum, this species is known as common comfrey or true comfrey
Symphytum species belongs to the Boraginaceae family and have been used for centuries for bone breakages, sprains and rheumatism, liver problems, gastritis, ulcers, skin problems, joint pain and contusions, wounds, gout, hematomas and thrombophlebitis
Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) acts as an anti-inflammatory to promote healing of bruises, sprains, and open wounds when applied topically. The roots and leaves of this plant contain the protein allantoin, which stimulates cell proliferation and promote wound and bone healings.
In its infused oil form it is easily absorbed the body from faster healing. That’s why I love making salves.

In the Honey to Heart range, I have tried the Soothe, St John’s Wort, and Comfrey Salves. I have found them to be pleasantly-scented balms that have a soothing feel on the skin. Each product is fit for purpose. The sedative properties in the St Johns Wort help me to sleep after I have rubbed it on my chest before bed. The anti-inflammatory properties in the Soothe Salve help to reduce swelling in rashes and sunburn. I have recently had surgery on my hand, and my therapist is happy with my progress because the Comfrey Salve is helping to speed up my wound’s healing and reduce scar tissue. I would recommend these products to anyone looking for a holistic, gentle support to healing.
